Diego Ríos

Profile and Summary of Experience

Diego is a Partner in BDO's Forensics Services practice for the Americas, specializing in providing technical assistance and support in international litigation and arbitration, particularly in the estimation of economic damages. He has over fifteen (15) years of experience serving as an expert witness; leading fraud investigation and litigation teams; and coordinating fraud investigation and financial risk management projects.

Diego has been appointed as an independent expert witness in arbitration tribunals of the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce, as well as in ordinary and criminal courts in Colombia. He has provided oral testimony on matters related to breach of contract, estimation of consequential damages and lost profits, evaluation of compliance with royalty agreements in mining and commercial licensing contracts, and assessment of crimes against the public treasury such as embezzlement and corruption. His expertise also includes sunk cost analysis; economic feasibility studies; financial valuations; estimation of losses in construction permits; and concession agreements. He has been involved in more than 50 expert witness service processes (including those where he provided oral testimony).
